The Nile’s Fountain Dances and the Cairo’s Governor Paints Lovers’ Dream!

Listen to this article

Poetry: Ashraf AboArafe

The Nile embraces its graceful waves, a spray of jeweled light,
Its fountain rises like a bride on her wedding night,
Dancing to the music of the water, whispering to the breeze,
While the river sings the purest poems with effortless ease.

Is this a herald of revival, a return of the blessed flood,
With mineral-rich gifts, wondrous fish, and sweet waters’ blood?
Or is it a promise that life will always renew,
Whenever the Nile smiles in its shimmering hue?

Gone are the shadows that veiled its tender face,
A unified promenade blooms along its embrace—
From Aswan’s golden banks to the meeting of the seas,
Tourism thrives, and the eyes find peace.
Thus, the lovers’ dream takes wing, serene and bright,
Under the hand of Dr. Ibrahim Saber,
Who made the water sing… and the city dream again at night.
