The Turkish Embassy in Cairo continues its uninterrupted humanitarian outreach to Palestinian families, reaffirming Turkey’s enduring solidarity with Gaza through tangible action, not words alone.
As part of its ongoing relief efforts, the embassy organized a new “Family Day” in cooperation with the Turkish humanitarian organization Verenel Association, providing food and cash assistance to 100 Palestinian families, alongside activities for 100 Palestinian children. The event followed an earlier solidarity gathering at the start of 2026, which hosted 200 Palestinian families, underscoring the continuity and expansion of Turkey’s support.
Held at the residence of the Turkish Ambassador in Cairo, the event transformed the space into a haven of care and joy. Special play areas were prepared for children, complemented by recreational activities such as face painting and creative games, allowing young participants a rare moment of relief and happiness. The gathering was attended by around 100 journalists and social media influencers from Egypt and Palestine, in addition to 15 representatives from Verenel Association who traveled from Turkey specifically for the event.
In his address, Salih Mutlu Şen, Ambassador of Turkey to Cairo, recalled the embassy’s first solidarity event for 200 Palestinian families at the beginning of the new year, expressing pride in organizing another relief initiative for 100 families shortly thereafter.
Ambassador Şen emphasized that Turkey seeks to demonstrate its support for the Palestinian people through concrete programs and humanitarian action, not rhetoric. He affirmed that these initiatives will continue and expand, adding that Turkey will persist in providing all forms of support to the people of Gaza during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
He extended his gratitude to Turkish relief organizations, noting that the event was organized in cooperation with Verenel Association, and stressed that Turkish official institutions and civil society organizations remain committed to delivering humanitarian aid that preserves the dignity of the Palestinian people, sustains their hope of return to Gaza, and supports them during their stay in Egypt.
Ambassador Şen reiterated Turkey’s determination to work tirelessly until the people of Gaza can live in safety and security. He also expressed deep appreciation for the facilitation and support provided by the Egyptian authorities in Cairo and Al-Arish, highlighting the crucial role of Egyptian state institutions in hosting Palestinians and enabling the smooth delivery of humanitarian assistance.
Throughout the event, the ambassador showed particular care for Palestinian families and children, engaging closely with them—an embodiment of a diplomacy where compassion stands not behind the flag, but at its very heart.
