Egypt and Pakistan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral and Regional Cooperation in Doha

On Sunday, September 14, in Doha, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Expatriates, met with H.E. Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the preparatory ministerial session for the Extraordinary Arab–Islamic Summit.

The two ministers reviewed the overall bilateral relations between their countries, affirming their shared commitment to advancing cooperation in all political, economic, and trade fields, and to exploring new avenues of partnership that would deliver mutual benefits.

They also underscored their determination to continue cooperation within the framework of the Developing Eight (D-8), which Egypt assumed the chairmanship of in December 2024. Both sides agreed to work on identifying new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation, attracting investment, and enhancing collaboration among member states.

At the regional level, the ministers condemned Israel’s blatant aggression against the State of Qatar, expressing their full solidarity with the Qatari government and people. Minister Abdelatty also briefed his Pakistani counterpart on Egypt’s efforts to secure a ceasefire and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. The two sides exchanged views on ways to address the grave political and security challenges in the region, with the aim of promoting peace and stability.
