Minister bin Farhan participates in preparing for the 33rd Arab Summit in Bahrain

Today, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the meeting of the League of Arab States Council at the level of foreign ministers preparatory to the 33rd Arab Summit, held in the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Manama.

  His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered a speech in which he reiterated the Kingdom’s keenness, during its presidency of the previous summit, to advance joint Arab action and enhance coordination in positions among all member states towards developing a collective and effective move to address the most important current regional and international challenges, most notably the Palestinian issue, indicating that this comes Emphasizing the Kingdom’s firm principles in defending Arab issues, and achieving the aspirations of the leaders and peoples of Arab countries to establish the foundations of peace, stability and development.

  His Highness stressed that the Kingdom has worked since the beginning of the unprecedented attacks on the Palestinian people, in cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries, to make every effort to mobilize international support to stop the brutal Israeli attacks and limit the repercussions of the crisis and its expansion, pointing to the Kingdom’s hosting of the extraordinary Arab Islamic Summit, and its participation with the brothers. In the ministerial follow-up committee that traveled to most influential capitals and international organizations to convey a unified position that supports the brotherly Palestinian people.

  He also stressed that the Israeli war machine’s continued aggression and violation of all international laws and norms without care, in the absence of activation of international accountability mechanisms, has exacerbated the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe, weakened the credibility of the rules and institutions of the international system, and demonstrated the complete inability of international institutions to maintain international peace and security.

  His Highness stressed the Kingdom’s adherence to the necessity of an immediate and permanent ceasefire, ensuring sufficient and continuous entry of aid, and finding a reliable and irreversible path to a two-state solution, in a way that ensures that the Palestinian people obtain their inherent right to self-determination and establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the initiative. Arab peace and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

  Regarding the Yemeni issue, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom’s tireless efforts and full support for efforts to achieve peace in Yemen, and to reach a comprehensive political solution through dialogue and consultation between the Yemeni parties, which allows the beginning of the process of development and economic recovery, reiterating the Kingdom’s emphasis on the importance of maintaining the security and safety of the region. The Red Sea and freedom of navigation in it, and sparing the region and its peoples from further crises.

  Regarding Sudan, His Highness expressed the Kingdom’s deep concern about the continuation of military operations and the resulting human suffering, reiterating the Kingdom’s call for the necessity of returning to dialogue in preparation for reaching a political solution that spares our brothers the scourge of war, and that the solution to the Sudanese crisis is a Sudanese-Sudanese political solution that respects the sovereignty of the country. The unity of Sudan and its national institutions.

  His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs referred to the resumption of the participation of Syrian delegations in the League’s meetings witnessed by the 32nd Arab Summit, stressing the importance of achieving security and stability in Syria, respecting its sovereignty, territorial integrity and Arab identity, ensuring the voluntary and safe return of refugees, and continuing the efforts made to combat terrorist organizations, armed militias, and drug smuggling. .

  He also expressed the Kingdom’s support for the brotherly Lebanese people, calling on all Lebanese parties to give priority to the public interest by implementing comprehensive political and economic reforms that will lead to overcoming their crises.

  His Highness renewed the Kingdom’s call to achieve security and stability in Libya, guarantee its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and stop interference in its internal affairs, expressing the Kingdom’s aspiration for a future of security and stability in Somalia.

  The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multiple International Affairs and the General Supervisor of the Ministry’s Agency for Public Diplomacy Affairs, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Risi, the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Abdul Aziz Al-Matar, and the Director General of the Office of His Highness the Minister, Abdul Rahman Al-Daoud.
