The Korean Cultural Center in Egypt organized the Korean Culture Caravan at Beni Suef Technological University (BSTU) yesterday, with the participation of a large group of university students and faculty members.

The students enjoyed the segments included in the convoy, which aim to introduce Korean culture and explore all its traditional and contemporary components.

In a journey of various experiences that extended throughout the day, the convoy provided the opportunity for the students to try on the traditional Korean dress, “Hanbok,” as they were keen to wear it and take souvenir photos during their inspection of the cultural pavilions, which also included an exhibition of traditional musical instruments and traditional Korean paper, “Hanji.”

The students also enjoyed trying out virtual reality glasses, where they were able to see many picturesque Korean landscapes and Korean heritage sites, and they also tried some traditional Korean games.

The Korean film “My Dear Puppy” was also screened with the aim of providing a unique experience that meets the university students’ passion for Korean cinema. They also enjoyed reading a number of Korean stories and novels in the Korean Library pavilion.

For his part, Oh Sung Ho, Director of the Cultural Center, expressed his happiness at organizing the convoy, which aims to introduce the components of Korean culture and enhance understanding and cultural exchange between Egypt and Korea.

On the sidelines of the convoy, the director of the center discussed with Dr. Jean-Henri Hanna, President of Beni Suef Technological University, discussed ways to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between the center and the university and the possibility of opening a branch of the King Sejong Institute for teaching the Korean language within the university.

Dr. Jan praised the rapid development witnessed by Egyptian-Korean relations in all fields, and thanked the Korean Cultural Center for organizing the convoy, which provided the opportunity for students to closely experience Korean culture and learn about its most prominent features.
