Karabakh…The “Iron Fist & Rooting of International Pacts

 After nearly thirty years of what we might call “freezing” of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan woke up on the morning of the 27th of September 2020 AD to military attacks by Armenia on its lands and on civilians without regard to any international norms or laws, which forced Azerbaijan to respond firmly on these attacks to protect its lands and citizens, what we might call the Second Karabakh War broke out.

 * Deterrence .. and humanitarian law!

In order to prevent further military aggression on the part of Armenia and to provide security for densely populated civilian residential areas, the armed forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan have taken measures to counterattack in the framework of the right of self-defense and in full compliance with international humanitarian law. This process was called the “iron fist” to ROOT INTERNATIONAL PACTS.

 * Violation of international conventions!

 Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan is a flagrant violation of the basic rules and principles of international law and international humanitarian law, including the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and their Additional Protocols (killing civilians, destroying residential cities by firing missiles, etc.), as well as UN Security Council resolutions 822, 853 and 874, Resolution No. 884 of 1993 which demands the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the armed forces of Armenia from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

 * The humanity of Azerbaijan… and the provocation of Armenia!

 Of course, Azerbaijan has been preparing for war all these years and has never hidden it. because Azerbaijani lands were under occupation and it thought that a peaceful solution to this issue was impossible. Azerbaijan has been convinced of this in recent years. It has been convinced by the Armenian leadership’s behavior, rhetoric and provocative steps, and ot can even say that they have convinced the international community that a peaceful solution to this issue is impossible.

 * No war, no peace!

 President Ilham Aliyev stated: “However, high-ranking officials of the countries co-chairing the MINSK Group had repeatedly emphasized that there is no military solution to the conflict. But Azerbaijan had seen that there is no peaceful solution to the conflict. Otherwise, this problem could have been resolved within 30 years. So, no interest in it, or perhaps this no-war and no-peace situation is persuading one side. There were those who were convinced that the Azerbaijani people would live in such a situation for 30 years. There were those who were convinced that our lands were under occupation and it seemed like a mechanism to put pressure on Azerbaijan. MINSK tried to convince Azerbaijanis that the reality has now emerged and that this reality has existed for 30 years and Azerbaijan must come to terms with this reality. Surely, Azerbaijan would never accept this situation.. It will never allow the establishment of a second Armenian state on Azerbaijani land and the people of Azerbaijan did not allow that.”
