H.E. Eng. Mohammad Abu bakker Al- Ghasani, Deputy Chairman of Shura Council, along with H.E Sheikh Ali Nasser Al- Mahrouqi, Secretary General of the Council received a media delegation from Egypt to get acquainted with the Shura process experience in the Sultanate.
The Egyptian delegation composed of Mrs. Abeer Fathy, Vice President of algomhoriah Newspaper, Mr. Adil Abdulatif Sabri , Editor-in-chief of Middle East News Agency, and Mr. Ahmed Majdi Areef, Head of Diplomatic and Arab Section at Al Akhbar Newspaper, Sada Al Balad TV Channel presenter.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of Shura Council presented a brief summary that touched upon the roles of the Council and its legislative and oversight competences. He also addressed the organizational structure of the Council as well as the work process of its standing committees. In addition, he briefed the Egyptian delegation about the media tools whereby the Council covers all its events through different Media platforms as well as social media channels.
On other side, the Egyptian delegation attended a part of the 8th Sitting to listen to the agenda of the sitting, discussions, and variant interactions put forward by the Council members. After that, they toured the sitting hall and library of Oman Council and committees’ rooms.
H.E the Secretary General of the Council gave a detail explanation about the Council premises in addition to shedding light on the technical support provided to the Council member. He also presented an overview on the Council visual identity, Website and services provided to visitors, as well as the electronic documentation system.
