Maria Zakharova<\/strong>, Spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, confirmed that Moscow is actively pursuing political and diplomatic efforts to help resolve the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025<\/strong>, Zakharova underscored Russia\u2019s commitment to de-escalation, addressing the international media gathered for the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to especially warn Washington<\/strong> against any military intervention, which would be a dangerous step with unpredictable and severe consequences,\u201d Zakharova stated.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She emphasized that the immediate priority must be halting the violence<\/strong>, securing a ceasefire<\/strong>, and creating the groundwork for a return to negotiations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cRussia is committed to facilitating this process in every possible way,\u201d she added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Zakharova also revealed that President Vladimir Putin<\/strong> held phone conversations with both the Israeli Prime Minister<\/strong> and the Iranian President<\/strong> immediately following the outbreak of the conflict on June 13<\/strong>, offering Russian mediation to bridge the divide.<\/p>\n

Putin also reached out to his U.S. counterpart<\/strong>, and later engaged in talks with the leaders of Turkey<\/strong> and the United Arab Emirates<\/strong>, seeking regional consensus to avoid further escalation.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov<\/strong> has been engaged in intense shuttle diplomacy, speaking with his counterparts from Egypt, Iran, Turkey, Oman<\/strong>, and Azerbaijan<\/strong>, as well as conducting negotiations with Indonesia\u2019s Foreign Minister<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese dialogues are ongoing, and the crisis in the Middle East remains a central focus of our diplomatic agenda,\u201d Zakharova noted.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Concluding her remarks, Zakharova reaffirmed Russia\u2019s stance on the Iranian nuclear issue:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe firmly believe there is no alternative to mutually acceptable, negotiated solutions<\/strong>.
