I<\/span>n a night shimmering with history and harmony, the Embassy of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye in Cairo celebrated the 102nd anniversary of the Turkish Republic<\/strong>, marking a century and more of resilience, renewal, and unity. The grand reception \u2014 attended by over a thousand guests, including dignitaries, diplomats, artists, and cultural icons \u2014 became a living bridge between the Nile and the Bosphorus.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Republic Day celebration carried a deeper symbolism<\/strong>, as 2025 marks the centenary of diplomatic relations between T\u00fcrkiye and Egypt<\/strong> \u2014 two nations bound by geography, culture, and destiny. The evening thus became a dual celebration: of a republic\u2019s endurance and a friendship reborn.\"\"<\/p>\n

The ceremony opened with the national anthems of T\u00fcrkiye and Egypt, performed movingly by an Egyptian orchestra, followed by traditional and classical pieces from both nations, echoing the shared rhythms of their intertwined civilizations.<\/p>\n

In his heartfelt address, Ambassador Salih Mutlu \u015een<\/strong>, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s envoy to Egypt, highlighted the profound significance of this milestone, emphasizing that under the shared leadership and mutual vision of Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi<\/strong>, both countries have expanded and deepened their relations across many domains \u2014 from trade and tourism to culture and the arts.\"\"<\/p>\n

He noted the unprecedented pace of high-level diplomatic exchanges, recalling President Erdo\u011fan\u2019s three visits to Egypt<\/strong> within the past eighteen months, and President El-Sisi\u2019s visit to T\u00fcrkiye in September 2024<\/strong>, during which the first High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council<\/strong> convened. The next meeting, \u015een announced, is expected in early 2026, with President Erdo\u011fan visiting Cairo once again.<\/p>\n

Ambassador \u015een reaffirmed that the modern Republic of T\u00fcrkiye remains steadfast in promoting peace, stability, and cooperation throughout the Middle East, guided by the enduring principle of its founder Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk<\/strong>: \u201cPeace at Home, Peace in the World.\u201d\"\"<\/em><\/p>\n

He praised the growing coordination between Ankara and Cairo, exemplified by their joint participation in the recent Peace Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh<\/strong>, where the \u201cTrump Declaration for Lasting Peace and Prosperity\u201d was signed by T\u00fcrkiye, Egypt, the United States, and Qatar \u2014 a hopeful step toward ending the suffering of the oppressed people of Gaza<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u015een affirmed T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s full readiness to contribute to Gaza\u2019s reconstruction efforts<\/strong> and to deliver humanitarian assistance in close cooperation with Egypt, announcing T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s strong participation in the upcoming Cairo Reconstruction Conference<\/strong>.\"\"<\/p>\n

On a cultural note, the Ambassador expressed anticipation for T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s high-level participation in the upcoming inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum<\/strong>, describing it as a gift from Egypt to the heritage of humanity. He also extended warm congratulations to Dr. Khaled El-Anany<\/strong>, recently elected Director-General of UNESCO<\/strong>, expressing confidence in his ability to represent the Arab, African, and Mediterranean worlds with excellence.<\/p>\n

Ambassador \u015een reflected on T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s remarkable progress over its 102 years \u2014 in education, healthcare, industry, and infrastructure \u2014 and reiterated his country\u2019s commitment to President Erdo\u011fan\u2019s vision of building \u201ca more just world\u201d<\/strong>, through cooperation with international partners for peace and equitable development.\"\"<\/p>\n

He underscored that the past 22 years of leadership<\/strong> have propelled T\u00fcrkiye toward unprecedented growth, creating fertile ground for renewed partnership with Egypt \u2014 two civilizational powers sharing over a millennium of history across the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n

As the evening drew to a close, the Ambassador announced a series of centennial events<\/strong> to continue throughout the year: a traditional Turkish bridal fashion show<\/strong> on November 19<\/strong>, with proceeds donated to the Egyptian Red Crescent<\/strong> for Gaza; a musical soir\u00e9e<\/strong> at the Ambassador\u2019s Residence on November 3<\/strong>; and a grand concert<\/strong> at the Cairo Opera House<\/strong> on November 5<\/strong>, featuring Turkish pianist R\u00fcya Taner<\/strong> and Egyptian soprano Amira Ahmed<\/strong>. He also revealed plans for art exhibitions<\/strong> on Turkish\u2013Egyptian calligraphy and cartoon art on Gaza<\/strong>.\"\"<\/p>\n
