O<\/span> land of Somaliland\u2014<\/span><\/strong>
\nwho taught maps how to betray?<\/span><\/strong>
\nWho whispered to the sea<\/span><\/strong>
\nto open its mouth<\/span><\/strong>
\nand devour nations?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

What wind is this<\/span><\/strong>
\nthat declares\u2014under the name of absence\u2014independence,<\/span><\/strong>
\ndeaf to the pulse of the soil,<\/span><\/strong>
\nforgetful of the names of the fallen?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

They called it recognition,<\/span><\/strong>
\nas if sovereignty were a document<\/span><\/strong>
\nsold in an international market,<\/span><\/strong>
\ndragged by caravans of interests<\/span><\/strong>
\nand signed by hands<\/span><\/strong>
\nthat have never tasted blood.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

They called it a unilateral step\u2014<\/span><\/strong>
\nyet we know<\/span><\/strong>
\nthe first step<\/span><\/strong>
\nis always the bullet,<\/span><\/strong>
\nsplitting the back of Africa<\/span><\/strong>
\nand planting in its heart<\/span><\/strong>
\na wound only history can heal.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This is not Somaliland alone.<\/span><\/strong>
\nPalestine fell<\/span><\/strong>
\nthe day they said: this is reality,<\/span><\/strong>
\nand the sky remained silent<\/span><\/strong>
\nbefore the first wound.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

From Palestine to Somaliland,<\/span><\/strong>
\nthe stab is one,<\/span><\/strong>
\nthe silence is one\u2014<\/span><\/strong>
\nthe same silence<\/span><\/strong>
\nthat teaches killers<\/span><\/strong>
\nthat division is possible.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

And Egypt remains\u2014<\/span><\/strong>
\nlike a palm that refuses to bend,<\/span><\/strong>
\nsaying to the maps:<\/span><\/strong>
\nwho betrays a small homeland today<\/span><\/strong>
