On the shore of water,<\/span>
\nwhere light leans like a child into the arms of waves,<\/span>
\nstood Halil Pasha,<\/span>
\nlistening to the secret of color,<\/span>
\nholding the wind so it would not escape his canvases.<\/span><\/p>\n

He was once a soldier crossing the clang of iron,<\/span>
\nthen returned\u2014as if he had discovered that wars do not resemble sunsets\u2014<\/span>
\ncasting his sword into the river of contemplation,<\/span>
\nand lifting his brushes<\/span>
\nto declare that light is the most beautiful battle.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Istanbul,<\/span>
\nhe learned from the Bosphorus how to converse with blue,<\/span>
\nhow water becomes a mirror for a searching soul.<\/span>
\nIn Paris,<\/span>
\nhe embraced shadows within the halls of the academy,<\/span>
\nlearning that art is not imitation\u2026 but rebirth.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Cairo,<\/span>
\nwhen the golden sun rested upon his eyelids,<\/span>
\nhe painted a new face for the day,<\/span>
\nturning alleys into hymns of light,<\/span>
\nand silence into a history told without words.<\/span><\/p>\n

O son of water,<\/span>
\nyou who wove a bridge of color between East and West,<\/span>
\nhow did you persuade light<\/span>
\nto dwell within a painting\u2026<\/span>
\nand never flee?<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2014at Pera Museum\u2014<\/span>
\nyou return not as memory,<\/span>
\nbut as a pulse rearranging time,<\/span>
\nas if the exhibition were another window<\/span>
\nthrough which we gaze upon your soul<\/span>
\nrepainting the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rest gently,<\/span>
\nO painter who taught water to speak,<\/span>
\nlight to love,<\/span>
\nand the canvas\u2026<\/span>
\nto become life.<\/span><\/p>\n
