The excursion took place on the sidelines of his official state visit to Egypt\u2014the first presidential visit between the two nations since establishing diplomatic relations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"4\">Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, accompanied President Milatovi\u0107 and his delegation on a guided tour of Historic Cairo, alongside Dr. Abdel Aziz Qonsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture. Together, they explored the region\u2019s distinct architecture and Islamic monuments, which reflect Egypt&#8217;s rich civilization and highlight the nation&#8217;s ongoing commitment to preserving its architectural and archaeological heritage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"5\">President Milatovi\u0107 expressed his deep admiration for the sites, describing Historic Cairo as a global cultural treasure that embodies the greatness and diversity of Egyptian history through the ages. He commended Egypt&#8217;s dedicated efforts to preserve this unique human legacy and keep it accessible to visitors from around the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"6\">During their walk through what serves as an open-air museum of Islamic architecture, the Montenegrin delegation learned about the history of the various mosques, caravanserais (wokalas), and historic homes lining El-Moez Street.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"7\">The tour featured stops at <b data-path-to-node=\"7\" data-index-in-node=\"27\">Bab al-Futuh<\/b>\u2014one of the three surviving gates of Fatimid Cairo&#8217;s walls, built in 1087 AD under the Vizier Badr al-Jamali\u2014and the <b data-path-to-node=\"7\" data-index-in-node=\"156\">Mosque of Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah<\/b>, one of the largest and oldest Fatimid mosques.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"8\">The delegation also visited <b data-path-to-node=\"8\" data-index-in-node=\"28\">Bayt al-Suhaymi<\/b>, one of the finest remaining examples of traditional Ottoman-era Cairene residential architecture.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-44847 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aldiplomasy.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG-20260723-WA0032-scaled-e1784835233274.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1536\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"9\">President Milatovi\u0107, the First Lady, and the delegation concluded their journey in the iconic <b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"94\">Khan el-Khalili<\/b> market, taking in traditional handicrafts, handmade jewelry, and Oriental antiques.
