During the first day of its voluntary medical campaign for open heart surgery for children in the city of Mukalla, the volunteer medical team of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center performed 6 operations, including 4 open heart surgeries, and two catheter surgeries, all of which were successful, praise be to God.

The team also uncovered 19 other cases, which benefited children from families with limited income, as part of the “Saudi Pulse” voluntary program for heart diseases and surgeries in Hadramout governorate, and this comes within the framework of the support provided by the Kingdom through the King Salman Relief Center to the medical sector in The sister republic of Yemen.

In a related context, the World Health Organization, in cooperation with the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, held a training workshop on infection control in the isolation centers for the emerging corona virus in Aden Governorate, in coordination with the Medical Services Department of the Yemeni Ministry of Health.

The three-day course aims to provide 25 cadres of medical isolation centers in Aden with theoretical and practical skills introducing the principles of infection, methods of transmission, how to prevent it, procedures and precautions necessary in isolation centers and personal protection means, and to identify epidemic and contagious diseases and their sources, how to limit their spread and how to get rid From medical waste in healthy and proper ways to preserve the health staff, the environment and society in general.

The Undersecretary of the Yemeni Ministry of Health for the curative medicine sector, Dr. Shawqi Al-Sharjabi, stressed the importance of benefiting from the scientific vocabulary included in the training workshop, the experiences of facing Corona in its first wave and preparing for any future possibilities.

The holding of training courses and workshops comes within the framework of the support provided by the Kingdom through the King Salman Relief Center to the World Health Organization to enhance the health aspect in Yemen and various other countries.

In a parallel framework, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued its efforts in distributing winter clothing to refugee and needy families in Jordan, as 2,171 winter bags were distributed in addition to 4,342 blankets, of which 2,171 families benefited from the governorates of Amman, Zarqa, Balqa, Mafraq and Irbid.

This distribution is part of the relief and humanitarian efforts provided by the Kingdom, represented by the King Salman Relief Center for Syrian and Palestinian refugees and the most needy families in Jordan.
