KSA requests to host the 11th session of WWF 2027

The Kingdom has officially submitted a request to host the eleventh session of the World Water Forum(WWF) 2027 in Riyadh, in confirmation of its interest and keenness to sustain water resources and improve the quality of life, to achieve the goals of sustainable development, and to continue to play its pioneering role in dealing with water issues in the regional and international arenas.

  The World Water Forum is; Organized by the World Water Council, the largest event in the field of water management; Where governments, organizations, officials and specialists in all relevant fields meet to exchange experiences and open aspects of cooperation in order to develop the sector and ensure its sustainability.

  The forum provides a platform for exchanging ideas, knowledge and cooperation between concerned parties around the world, and provides opportunities to present international best practices and find ways of cooperation that will ensure sustainable management of water resources worldwide.

  The Kingdom applied to host the forum despite the fact that it is one of the countries with the most scarce water resources in the world, but it possesses a modern and advanced infrastructure. In addition to the regulations and legislation that regulate the sector, the National Water Strategy is the road map that charts the future and helps overcome its challenges by establishing comprehensive institutional and structural frameworks, providing enabling mechanisms, and developing effective implementation plans, in addition to the water system that aims to preserve, develop, and protect water sources. Ensuring its sustainability, management, and regulation of its affairs, rights related to it, and aspects of its use, and ensuring the provision of safe, clean, reliable, high-quality water supplies at competitive prices that achieve justice among consumers.

  The new water system enhances the participation of the private sector in activities, and contributes to achieving the goal of every person having access to clean and safe water that conforms to approved specifications, meeting his natural needs, and in accordance with approved standards, plans and programs, as well as ensuring the provision of water supplies to all development sectors, including the agricultural sector, in a way that ensures Sustaining this vital sector, in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
