The Ambassador of the United States of America to the Sultanate of Oman, Marc J. Sievers, underlined the deep historical relations between the Sultanate and the United States of America, pointing out that the Sultanate of Oman, under the leadership of Sultan Qaboos bin Said has a wise policy to solve many regional issues and problems rather than pushing the Sultanate towards growth and stability since taking office in the country.

“The Sultanate is the oldest partner in the Arab world of the United States of America and our relationship dates back to 1830, where the first Omani ambassador visited  New York in 1840. The voyage was long by ship, the Sultanate and the United States of America have a free trade agreement and this contributes to the economy of the two friendly countries.”, said Sievers.
