The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirmed that the heinous terrorist incident that targeted worshipers in mosques in New Zealand is not recognized by religions or values of coexistence, and is a cowardly act of cowardice.
In a speech to the United Nations Human Rights Council, which is currently being held in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Wasal said that it is not the first of its kind. It is part of a series of racial and ethnic events that feed on a culture of hatred, racism, violence, terrorism, extremism and the culture of Islamophobia against minorities in some countries.
Al-Wasel added that the terrorist incident in New Zealand confirms that terrorism has no religion, no race and is rejected by humanity as a whole. We must unite and stand together to fight the hatred and extremism that cause the killing of innocents.
He pointed out that hate speech in the political and media platforms fuel racist tendencies against religious minorities and migrants in their countries, fuel extremist tendencies and increase the tension against Muslims and immigrants And other minorities.
The Kingdom called upon all States to seriously address the cessation of all extremist voices and the enactment of laws and policies calling for tolerance and acceptance of other differences and civilizations within the framework of the Durban Declaration and Program of Action.
The Kingdom’s delegation to the United Nations in Geneva offered condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack on two synagogues in Christchurch, New Zealand.
