President of the General Authority for Economic Affairs of the Suez Canal Region, Major General Mohab Mamish, Abdul-Majid Saqr Governor of Suez Canal Authority and Mr. Osama Rabea, Vice President of the Suez Canal Authority witnessed opening expermentaly on the morning of Monday of Ahmed Omar Shubray floating crane in the Suez area, in preparation for its opening in the near future. In this regard, Mamish stressed that the Egyptian state pays great attention to the development of the canal and Sinai and works to connect the two sides of the canal and facilitate the movement of citizens, parallel to the project tunnels under Suez Canal which prompted the Suez Canal Authority to create a series of floating bridges along the canal to work side by side.

The new bridge is located at 7.147 km. The length of the bridge is 227 meters, the surface width is 15 meters, the water supply is 25 meters, and the bridge allows the passenger and middle transport traffic to pass in two directions. The heavy transport is transported in one direction with a maximum load of 70 tons.

The bridge consists of three floating penthouses of 75 m in length and is designed according to the international standard specifications that guarantee the safety and safety elements of the navigator, so that the process of controlling the bridge does not take more than 5 minutes.

It is noteworthy that the floating bridge design was assigned to the shipyard of Port Said, whereby it obtained the approval of the French Supervisory Authority (Biroveritas) for the engineering drawings. The efforts of the Commission’s arsenals, represented by the Port Said Shipyard and Portofique consortia, were also combined with a number of companies of the end of the benton manufacturing the vessel was formed at the time of Qusay, the Canal Construction Company and the Engineering Works Company of Alexandria. The Port Said Shipyard then took over the duties of assembling the bentons and installing the equipment on the bridge.
