Launching festival of “Creative Ihsa” as 1st Gulf city & 3rd Arab one

The “Al-Ihsa Creative” Festival of Handicrafts and Folklore, organized by the Al-Ihsa Secretariat, was held yesterday evening and continues until March 30th.

The festival was an extension of Al Ihsa province to join the global creative cities network of UNESCO in the creative field of handicrafts and folklore as the first Gulf city and the third Arab.

The festival comes within the framework of the objectives of the Eastern season aimed at introducing the ancient heritage and civilization that the region stores and transmit it to future generations. The Eastern season is also a valuable opportunity to introduce the ancient history of Ihsa and the old folk activities.

The festival presents 40 handicrafts that tell stories of Al-Ihsa’s life through hundreds of years, ending with the “House of Ihsa”, which embodies the old reality of life, which includes the life of the old family with its origins and effects.

As well as many young men and women Ihsa crafts from the heritage of old, to record the festival a clear presence in the social and economic scene in Al-Ihsa, and achieve the goal in raising the culture of preserving the handicrafts, and the heritage value borne by the history of Ihsa.
