The Ministry of State for Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad is preparing to launch the fourth edition of the “Egyptians Abroad” conference, which is scheduled to be held on July 31, with the participation of a large number of Egyptians abroad, representatives of various Egyptian communities in various countries, as well as the participation of representatives of the relevant ministries and state institutions, to respond to The inquiries and suggestions of the Egyptian participants abroad, and work on studying and implementing them.
For her part, Ambassador Soha Gendy, Minister of Immigration, announced the main sessions and themes of the “Egyptians Abroad” conference, so that the conference would serve as an investment in the efforts of the Ministry of Immigration to strengthen the national identity of Egyptian expatriates and facilitate all means of support necessary for them as one of the important arms of Egypt’s soft power. Provided that the conference is more general and comprehensive and includes all spectrums of Egyptians abroad.
The Minister of Immigration said that the “Egyptians Abroad” conference, in its fourth edition, discussed a number of main axes (the economic axis – the political and educational axis – the social and service axis), which were reached through the policy of communicating with Egyptians abroad that the ministry pursued throughout the period. Through weekly virtual meetings via videoconference technology, within the framework of the “Hour with the Minister” initiative with Egyptian communities abroad, and direct communication through social media and communication groups with communities that were formed on the WhatsApp application.
Her Excellency also revealed the sessions of the conference, as it includes the opening session under the title “Statement of Account”, during which the Minister of Immigration reviews the efforts made by the Ministry of Immigration throughout the current year to meet the demands of Egyptians abroad, the recommendations issued by the previous conference and how they were implemented and the resulting achievements. And that is through the strategy of the Ministry of Immigration, which is based on finding many effective communication mechanisms with all Egyptians abroad in all their segments around the world, which represents a top priority in the Ministry’s policies in light of their effective role as Egypt’s permanent ambassadors abroad, and the importance of linking immigration policies and the development process, By supporting the state’s economic program by creating an attractive investment environment to encourage Egyptians abroad to participate in investment in Egypt while introducing them to the advantages and investment opportunities and available national and investment projects, the ministry’s efforts in the framework of training for employment to combat illegal immigration, as well as what was done in the initiative of Egyptian cars in the outside.
Ambassador Soha Gendi added that the first session of the conference is concerned with the economic axis, and reviews the performance of the Egyptian economy in recent years and the opportunities to overcome obstacles in light of the global economic crisis and the achievements that have been achieved by activating financial policy tools to encourage an increase in the rates of cash transfers in hard currency to Egyptians abroad, to support Achieving the goals of the sustainable development process in the country, reviewing the most prominent efforts of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones in developing and diversifying the current investment fields and removing obstacles, and promoting good investment opportunities to ensure the effective participation of Egyptians abroad in investing in Egypt, in addition to presenting a presentation on the establishment of the joint stock company for the investments of Egyptians abroad in response For the demands of Egyptians abroad at the Egyptian Entities Abroad Conference in its previous edition 2022.
The second session also deals with the political and educational axes, and discusses the importance of the participation of Egyptians abroad in the national dialogue, as it is a great national opportunity to exchange visions and different points of view on important issues among the various groups of people at home and abroad, to work on addressing the challenges they face because they are an integral part of the political process. In Egypt, reviewing the objectives of the Egyptian state’s foreign policy and the role of Egyptians abroad in achieving them, as well as reviewing what has been achieved in the field of education for the children of Egyptians abroad on the tracks of compulsory education, the tracks of our children abroad, the Egyptian track schools, and the new electronic platforms that have been coordinated with the Ministry of Education. For the benefit of the children of Egyptians abroad in the stages of primary, preparatory and secondary education, as well as the obstacles that have been overcome in order to integrate our children returning from areas of armed conflict into Egyptian universities within the framework of the permanent national committee for Egyptians abroad, as well as the opportunities that are granted to the children of Egypt abroad to study in Egyptian private universities And eligibility, and all forms of university and technical studies that exist in Egypt.
The Minister of Immigration added that the third session targets the social and service axes, discussing ways to coordinate with the Ministry of Social Solidarity regarding the establishment of the Egyptians Abroad Fund, striving to achieve solidarity among Egyptians abroad, as well as providing health and social insurance services, as well as ensuring the transfer of the bodies of Egyptians abroad in case of emergency. and medical evacuation in critical cases, and reviewing the efforts of the Ministries of Immigration and Communications regarding the launch of an electronic application for Egyptians abroad that includes all electronic services and advantages aimed at facilitating them, reviewing ways to promote among communities to participate in the social insurance available to Egyptians abroad, in coordination between the Ministry of Immigration and the National Authority for Social Insurance.
