Korean Culture Week wraps up with captivating, dynamic concert

Around 120 young Egyptian present a gala concert combine between the deep folk Korean music and the modern K-POP, at the closing ceremony of the Korean culture week at the theatre of the National Museum of the Egyptian Civilization.

Firstly, 2 groups from Gugak Academys’ participants played some iconic folk music they have learned over 2 weeks course instructed by Im Yong Nam, a member of the National Gugak’s Folk Music Group.

In the second part of the concert, K-POP groups, composed of the young Egyptian who took part in the K-POP academy, presented some of famous K-POP songs, with its visually stunning performances including Beatbox by NCT Dream, Anpanman by BTS and thanks by Seventeen.

The two annual workshops organized by the Center have been held at the Academy of Arts, where 160 young Egyptians attended.

Oh, Sungho, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre expressed his happiness at successfully wrapping up the Korean Culture Week activities.

As well, he expressed his gratitude to all participating groups in the closing ceremony saying that their performances which are remarkably-similar to the professional musical groups demonstrate the sustaining power of music in transcending the language barriers and connecting people.

‘I hoped that Korea Live event succeed in bringing the peoples of the two countries closer while promoting their mutual cultural exchanges’ Oh, Sungho added. 

The Korean culture week which run over a whole week, offers a unique opportunity to experience different facets of Korean culture including music, arts, and literature.
