Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The latter congratulated the first on his new role. Both leaders agreed on the importance of strengthening bilateral ties between their countries and to work together across a broad agenda in order to build a modern strategic partnership between UK and Egypt.
The two leaders said they looked forward to meeting again at the G7 Summit in Biarritz later this month.
