Yesterday, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a phone call from His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, Tobias Billström.
At the beginning of the call, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s total rejection of all attempts to offend the Holy Quran, and its demand to take immediate measures to stop these extremist actions that attempt to undermine the heavenly books and provoke the feelings of Muslims around the world.H
His Highness stressed during the call that the repeated incidents of burning copies of the Holy Qur’an contribute to fueling hatred and limit efforts for dialogue between peoples and civilizations.
For his part, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden expressed his country’s condemnation and denunciation of all attempts to burn copies of the Holy Qur’an, expressing his deep regret over what some people in his country openly exploit the Swedish constitution regarding freedom of opinion, stressing that his country seeks to stop all Acts offensive to religions and heavenly books.
