Italy announces inauguration of “Egyptian-Italian Sacred Path”

 On Saturday and Sunday, the Italian capital, Rome, witnessed a number of intensive activities and meetings to inaugurate the entity of the “Egyptian-Italian Sacred Path”, which aims primarily to promote the Holy Family Path project in the Vatican, Italy and various countries of the world.

 The events began with the meeting of Dr. Issa Iskandar, head of the Holy Path, with Bishop of Rome Don Dario Giriaso, where the Bishop of Rome blessed the twinning that took place between Saint Nicholas’ Path and the Egyptian-Italian Foundation.

 Don Dario Giriaso affirmed his encouragement for all efforts and steps taken by the sacred path to achieve human spiritual communication between the peoples of the various countries of the world.

 He also met Dr. Issa Iskandar, the advisor of the international and cultural sector from the municipality of Ostia – Rome, where he presented her with the shield of the Holy Path and explained to her the efforts undertaken by the Egyptian government in the development and development of the Holy Family Path project in a number of Egyptian governorates, and that the project received great interest from all groups of Egyptian society .

 During the meeting, the head of the sacred path touched on the twinning that took place with the path of Saint Nicholas, who is present in most countries of the world, including Egypt in Alexandria.

 At the end of the meeting, the advisor of the international and cultural sector presented the town of Ostia – Rome with the shield of the city for the Holy Path, stressing her welcome to work to support the twinning project between the path of the Holy Family in Egypt and the path of Saint Nicholas in Italy.

 In the same context, a delegation representing the leaders of the Egyptian-Italian sacred path visited the monastery of Benedict, which is located in Subiago, 60 km from the Italian capital, Rome, and its foundation dates back to the fourth century AD.

 The delegation met with Archbishop Dom Maor Yitzu, the abbot of the monastery, who expressed his happiness with the twinning project between the path of Saint Nicholas and the path of the Holy Family in Egypt.

 The delegation of the Holy Path presented Don Maor Yitzu a copy of the book “The Holy Family” inaugurated by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark. Bishop Maurizio decided to display the book in the monastery’s public library for visitors from around the world to view it.

 During the meeting, the delegation of the Holy Path discussed the desire of a monastery to contract its twin with the Egyptian Church and the monastery of Anba Antonios, the founder of monasticism in Egypt, especially since Benedict’s monastery is the institution of monasticism in Italy.

 Bishop Maurizio said, “He prays that peace will prevail in the world and that he blesses this step and the cooperation carried out by the Egyptian-Italian delegation in this important project for the whole world with its various cultures and civilizations.”

 Mona Franceschini, Executive Director of the Saint Nicholas Foundation and Path, said that the visits made by the delegation were primarily aimed at informing the clergy in the Vatican and Italy about the twinning project between Saint Nicholas’ Path and the Path of the Holy Family in Egypt, in addition to starting the implementation of the plan of action, coordination and promotion at this stage. Coming after the announcement of the inauguration of the sacred path.

 Mona Franceschini stressed that there is great support from the clergy, politicians and civil society in the Vatican and Italy for this important project, and said, “We plan to visit Egypt next September at the head of a large delegation to visit the path of the Holy Family.”

 She added, “We visited the Egyptian Embassy in the Vatican and met the officials and presented to them our desire to visit a delegation from the cultural tracks in the Vatican and Italy to Egypt, and to meet religious and executive officials in Egypt.

 “The coming period will witness a number of steps being taken in Italy, Egypt and the rest of the world, which will activate twinning and jointly promote the project,” said Gina Banci, head of the San Nicolas Foundation and Path.

 She added, “It is a great step for the people of the world to visit and see the historical relics of the paths of the saints, foremost of which is the path of the Holy Family in Egypt.
