NRC appreciates the leadership’s support to achieve the Kingdom’s classification at the highest levels of digital regulatory maturity

 The National Organizations Committee (NRC) expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense – may God preserve them – for what was achieved as a result of their support and empowerment of the members of the Committee, which led to the classification of the Kingdom in The highest levels of the International Telecommunication Union’s “Digital Regulatory Maturity Index” for telecommunication regulators around the world “Level 5” issued by the International Telecommunication Union.

 This came after the holding of the third meeting of the National Regulatory Committee headed by the Communications and Information Technology Commission, and the attendance of its members, the Saudi Central Bank, the Capital Market Authority, the Water and Electricity Regulatory Authority, the General Competition Authority, the Public Transport Authority, the General Authority for Audio-Visual Media, and the National Data and Intelligence Authority artificial; As entities with a regulatory role in the digital sectors.

 The Committee appreciated the results of its efforts within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 of achieving the fifth level, to place the Kingdom in the first place in the Middle East and Africa and in the ninth place among the G20 countries, stressing that this would not have been achieved without the wise leadership of all parties empowering and supporting them to continue strengthening the Kingdom’s leadership and regional position and internationally.

 The committee works to ensure the highest level of coordination and cooperation between regulators, and harmonize the regulation of common digital topics between the authorities, by conducting studies to evaluate best practices, submitting proposals and recommendations, and launching initiatives to share knowledge between the entities. In the interest of strengthening the digital regulatory environment in various vital sectors.

 It is noteworthy that the National Regulatory Committee was established by the decision of the National Committee for Digital Transformation as a strategic step to provide an attractive and stimulating regulatory environment for various sectors. To enhance investment in the digital economy and accelerate digital transformation in all sectors.
