Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant General Secretary (GS), Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the League of Arab States (LAS), stated that on April 7 of each year the world celebrates World Health Day, which is the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization, and the World Health Organization has chosen this year’s slogan to be “Health for All”, She also noted that the third goal of sustainable development goals is good health and well-being, as the right to health is a basic human right, and basic health services must be available to all.
She pointed out that the Council of Arab Ministers of Health is concerned with the health security of the Arab citizen through programs and strategies that guide member states to strengthen their health systems and provide priority health care for their people. In the Arab countries with the aim of improving the quality of health services and raising their efficiency and effectiveness of their performance to achieve health for all.
In this context, the ambassador stressed that the Council of Arab Health Ministers, in its regular session (58), adopted Resolution No. (11) regarding the celebration of Arab Health Day, which falls on September 4 of each year, and this year’s slogan is the impact of the climate on health, as a celebration will be organized on this occasion. At the headquarters of the General Secretariat, in coordination with the ministries of health in the Arab member states and the health authorities concerned.
