Ambassador Suha Gendi: We are keen on the idea of training for employment to open the door to safe opportunities for young people instead of falling prey to illegal immigration

M. Ibrahim El-Araby: We look forward to fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Immigration in promoting training and qualification programs for Egyptian workers in line with the standards of international and European markets and in accordance with the successful model of training through the Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration of the Ministry.

Ambassador Suha Gendi, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, received Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby, President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FCC) and President of the Cairo (CC) Chamber, to discuss aspects of cooperation in light of strengthening the principle of training for employment. The meeting was attended by Dr. Saber Soliman, Assistant Minister of Immigration for Institutional Development, Ms. Sarah Maamoun, Assistant Minister of Immigration and Supervisor of the Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration, Mr. Mounir Al-Masry, Head of the Labor Recruitment Companies Division at the Cairo Chamber, and Mr. Abdel-Rahim Al-Morsy, Vice-President of the Division Employment in the Chamber of Commerce.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Suha Gendi welcomed Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby and the rest of the attendees, and stressed the Ministry’s keenness to enhance cooperation and joint coordination with all partners from the private sector and business community institutions, in particular the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, as a major partner in the development and development of the Egyptian economy, where The Ministry of Immigration works to integrate Egyptians abroad into this system within the framework of linking them to the motherland, with the aim of uniting efforts and reaching a unified vision for the future of the Egyptian economy.

Ambassador Suha Gendy added that there were many issues that were discussed in line with the national vision and in order to activate the objectives of the Ministry of Immigration and the Chamber of Commerce, pointing to the role of the Egyptian-German Center, which is the training arm of the Ministry of Immigration in cooperation with the German side, and the possibility of expanding the experience to serve European markets and provide Skilled and trained Egyptian workers for European markets and filling the needs gap.

The Minister of Immigration affirmed the Ministry’s keenness on the idea of training for employment, and said that we are dealing with the most professional institutions to train and qualify young people, to open the door to safe and fair opportunities for young people instead of falling prey to the phenomenon of illegal immigration, as well as for Egyptians returning from abroad to reintegrate them into Egyptian society. again through counseling, training and psychological rehabilitation.

For his part, m. Ibrahim El-Araby, President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and President of the Cairo Chamber, expressed his gratitude for meeting Ambassador Suha Gendy, Minister of Immigration, praising her efforts in the file of caring for Egyptians abroad, combating illegal immigration, and providing positive alternatives for young people through training courses and job opportunities.

In his speech, Al-Araby discussed the axes of cooperation between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and a German organization, with the aim of “safe employment for Egyptians in Germany”, within the framework of the state and political leadership’s directions to support Egyptian foreign relations, and seek to provide more job opportunities for Egyptian youth in the foreign market. She is recognized for her efficiency and her ability to adapt in external societies.

Al-Araby explained that preparations are underway to hold a group of workshops between the Egyptian side, through the Division of Recruitment Companies Abroad, and officials of the German Organization for the Rehabilitation of Egyptian Youth to Join the Labor Market in Germany, according to the various sectors required in the German and European markets, expressing his aspiration for fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Immigration. In promoting training and rehabilitation programs for Egyptian workers in line with the standards of international and European markets, and in accordance with the successful model of training through the Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Immigration and Reintegration of the Ministry.

While Mr. Mounir Al-Masry stressed that this important project serves the Egyptian and German sides, and that the coming period will witness great efforts to implement it, which places a great responsibility on the shoulders of the Federation of Chambers to support Egyptian youth and provide them with more job opportunities.

Mr. Abdel-Rahim Al-Mursi also pointed out that Germany suffers from a shortage of labor in many fields, and always desires to bring in skilled labor from Egypt, which will certainly contribute to reducing the phenomenon of illegal immigration.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Soha Gendy, Minister of Immigration, welcomed, in coordination and cooperation with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, the “Safe Employment for Egyptians in Germany” project, given the importance of organizing migration processes for employment and achieving balance in meeting the needs of the local labor market, as well as providing safe immigration opportunities for young people so that they do not turn into a way to waste our human resources.

It was agreed to hold periodic meetings with the participation of experts from both sides to discuss ways of cooperation and to make use of similar cooperation mechanisms existing between the Ministry of Immigration and the German side applied in the Egyptian German Center, in order to lay sustainable and unified foundations in coordination with the Cairo Chamber of Commerce in the field of permanent and seasonal migration with a positive direction, and support Sustainable development plans and providing areas for employment, training and qualification for the labor market, according to the needs required in the local and foreign markets, and developing skills and languages, in order to facilitate the integration of Egyptian labor into the societies to which it is sent.
