CRC appreciates King Salman Relief Center for supporting Gaza

The Director General of the International Committee of the Red Cross(CRC), Robert Mardini, explained that the current situation in Gaza is no less than catastrophic, and this is something that is seen day after day, and thanks to the great support provided by the King Salman Relief Center, the committee has been able to carry out its work in many hospitals in the Strip, enabling it to Supporting hospitals with the medical and surgical supplies they need most. This came during a press statement after His Excellency’s meeting with His Excellency the Advisor to the Royal Court and the General Supervisor of the King Salman Relief Center, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, at the Center’s headquarters in Riyadh. Robert Mardini said: “The committee has medical teams working side by side with Palestinian doctors and nursing staff, saving lives every day, and that the committee has seen patients with very serious injuries, and thousands of people with serious injuries, burns, and complex and horrific injuries are arriving at hospitals, and that support The great work carried out by the King Salman Relief Center helped the committee save lives and preserve humanity in the Gaza Strip under these very bad conditions.” Mardini added that the committee’s partnership with the center is constantly growing over time, expressing his pride in this partnership that began in 2015 when the King Salman Relief Center was established. Mardini stated that in every meeting with Dr. Al-Rabiah, we review the new joint humanitarian work and activities between the two sides. For seven months, we have been uniting efforts regarding the tragic situation that occurred in Sudan, and we have also been supporting hospitals and providing health care in very difficult circumstances. Regarding the various projects presented in Yemen, Robert Mardini explained that the joint programs in Yemen are also evidence of the distinguished partnership between the committee and the centre, stressing that the great efforts of the King Salman Relief Center in clearing mines in Yemen contribute to saving lives every day, expressing his pride in what He came from joint efforts in Yemen to support families and provide mental health services and psychosocial support to the families of people who lost limbs, looking forward to the continuation of this partnership in the service of humanitarian work.
