The Arab Tourism Organization (ATO) congratulated the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for celebrating the achievement of the target of 100 million tourists, making it a role model at the regional and global levels.

The organization explained in a statement that this achievement confirms the success of the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism in the Kingdom in transforming the travel and tourism sector into a primary engine for the process of diversifying sources of economic income and growth to achieve this goal in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which enhances the position of the Saudi private sector and its ability to create a vibrant society and establish a prosperous economy under the guidance of… And follow-up by wise leadership.

The organization valued the distinguished partnership between the public and private sectors and working together as one team, which reflected positively and contributed to the number of tourists arriving in Saudi regions exceeding the 100 million number of tourists during the year 2023, which was planned for the year 2030, achieving a spending rate of more than 250 billion riyals.

She stressed that the tourism sector is one of the most important sectors for providing job opportunities for Saudi youth to engage in, as this resulted in the provision of about 925.5 thousand jobs, which led to the tourism sector in the Kingdom achieving great qualitative leaps, amounting to 100 million tourists from home and abroad by the end of 2023, achieving an increase of 12 percent. % compared to 2022; The number of tourists arriving from abroad reached 27.4 million, an increase of 65% during the same period.
