On May 6, 2025, India launched a series of missile strikes under “Operation Sindoor” targeting nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. India claims these strikes were aimed at terrorist infrastructure linked to groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. Pakistan condemns these strikes as an unprovoked act of war that violates our sovereignty. According to our reports, the attacks resulted in the deaths of at least nine civilians, including children, and injured 38 others. Mosques and residential buildings were also destroyed.

In response to these aggressive actions, Pakistan reserves the right to respond at a time and place of its choosing, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and international law. The government, armed forces, and people of Pakistan stand united in the face of Indian aggression and will resolutely defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan.
