**Cairo/Doha – Wednesday, 7 May 2025**
The Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Qatar today issued a joint statement affirming the continuity and coherence of their mediation efforts in the Gaza Strip. Grounded in a shared vision, these efforts aim to end the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Gaza and alleviate civilian suffering by establishing the conditions necessary for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire.
The two countries underscored that any attempts to sow discord between them—whether through doubt, distortion, or media escalation—will not succeed and will not divert them from their unified mission to bring this conflict and its resulting humanitarian catastrophe to an end.
Egypt and Qatar further reiterated that they will not be drawn into domestic disputes or secondary agendas that do not serve the interests of the brotherly Palestinian people. They renewed their full commitment to operate within a clear, mutually agreed framework focused on reducing civilian hardship and securing a durable ceasefire as a vital step toward a sustainable solution.
Additionally, the statement highlighted that these mediation efforts are being closely coordinated with the United States of America to achieve an agreement that halts the humanitarian tragedy and guarantees the protection of civilians.
This declaration comes amid escalating tensions in the Gaza Strip, where recent Israeli strikes on a school sheltering displaced persons in the central sector resulted in dozens of Palestinian casualties.
