Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council Begins Official Visit to Egypt to Enhance Parliamentary Cooperation

The Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, has begun an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, heading a high-level delegation from the Shura Council. The visit comes in response to an official invitation from H.E. Counselor Dr. Hanafy El Gebaly, Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives.

Bilateral Talks and Memorandum of Understanding

During the visit, the two parliamentary leaders will hold an official session of talks to explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly nations, particularly in the parliamentary field. The visit will also witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Shura Council and the House of Representatives to foster parliamentary cooperation and exchange legislative expertise.

H.E. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh is also scheduled to meet with H.E. Counselor Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq, Speaker of the Egyptian Senate, as well as other senior Egyptian officials.

Emphasis on Historic Brotherhood

In a press statement, H.E. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh emphasized the deep-rooted and historic ties between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, highlighting the continued development of these relations in various fields under the guidance and support of both countries’ leaderships. He noted the shared vision that unites the two nations on regional and international matters.

He stated that his visit aims to further elevate bilateral relations, particularly in the parliamentary domain, and to coordinate positions in international parliamentary forums. He also underlined the importance of mutual parliamentary visits in supporting bilateral cooperation and strategic dialogue.

Accompanying Delegation

The Speaker is accompanied by a delegation of Shura Council members, including Mr. Saad bin Sulaib Al-Otaibi, Mr. Ajlan bin Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan, Mr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Tawi, Dr. Amal bint Yahya Al-Sheikh, Dr. Ghada bint Talaat Al-Huthaili, along with a number of council officials.
