The organizing committee of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) has officially announced that Egypt will participate in the 2025 edition of the forum, scheduled to take place from June 18 to 21, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Russia. More than 91 countries have confirmed their attendance—an increase of 5% compared to the same period last year.
A dedicated session titled “Russia – Egypt” will highlight opportunities for cooperation in key sectors such as trade, investment, logistics, industry, and tourism, with the Egyptian delegation expected to include senior ministers and leading figures from the business community.
Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the Russian President and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee, stated that the growing number of participating nations reflects the forum’s evolving status as a global platform for shaping new economic partnerships in a multipolar world. He also underscored the increasing engagement of the Global South, whose role in the world economy is expanding rapidly.
Held under the theme: “Shared Values: The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World”, the forum’s 2025 agenda focuses on four core pillars: “Development Economy: Ensuring Growth,” “Technology: Pursuing Leadership,” “Living Environment,” and “The Individual in a New World.”
In addition, 15 bilateral business dialogues will be organized with partners from Armenia, Africa, Bahrain, Vietnam, the EU, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Latin America, Moldova, Mongolia, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and ASEAN–EAEU countries.
Egypt’s participation underscores its ongoing commitment to expanding international economic ties, reinforcing its strategic position amid global economic transformations, and exploring new horizons in South-South cooperation.
