A delegation from the European Parliament for relations with the Mashreq countries is visiting Cairo to participate in the 14th EU–Egypt Parliamentary Meeting, held in the New Administrative Capital.
Led by MEP Laurent Castillo, the delegation aims to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations and address shared concerns, including EU–Egypt cooperation, regional stability, economic collaboration, political modernization, and human rights.
The delegation will meet with Egyptian parliamentarians, government officials, and civil society representatives, and will visit EU-funded development projects to assess on-the-ground progress and impact.
Chairman Castillo emphasized that the visit follows a landmark EU agreement on micro-financial assistance, underscoring the EU’s commitment to deepening its partnership with Egypt through constructive dialogue on shared priorities.
