In a significant step reflecting the deepening economic ties between Egypt and Turkey, Turkish textile company KCG has launched a new $24 million investment in the 10th of Ramadan industrial zone. The foundation stone for the new facility was laid during an official ceremony held on Saturday, July 6, 2025.

The event was attended by Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Hassan El-Khatib, Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones Hossam Heiba, Turkish Ambassador to Cairo Salih Mutlu Şen, and KCG’s founder Yılmaz Küçükçalık, along with senior company officials.

Reinforcing Turkish Industrial Presence in Egypt

This expansion comes as part of KCG’s broader investment strategy in Egypt, where it has been operating since 2007 with a cumulative investment of $65 million. The new facility is expected to raise the company’s annual exports from Egypt to approximately $100 million, supplying renowned global brands and key markets in the apparel sector.

Operations at the new plant are scheduled to begin in October, adding 500 new jobs to the company’s existing workforce of 1,800 Egyptians, reaching a total of 2,300 local employees.

Officials Highlight Strategic Economic Partnership

During his speech at the ceremony, Turkish Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen welcomed the expansion of Turkish investments in Egypt, stating that Egypt is a “natural and strategic destination” for Turkish investors due to the strong cultural, geographic, and logistical links between the two countries.

“The Free Trade Agreements, robust transportation networks, and the positive climate toward Turkish investors all point to a bright future,” Şen said. “Economic cooperation is a top priority for Turkey’s engagement with Egypt, and I firmly believe that Turkey will remain among Egypt’s top three foreign trade partners.”

Minister Hassan El-Khatib echoed this sentiment, praising Turkish companies for their speed and efficiency in executing projects, and affirming Egypt’s commitment to welcoming quality investment that boosts employment and export capacity.
