Tashkent – Nilufar Xusanova
On August 3, 2025, Tashkent became the vibrant hub of future diplomacy as it hosted the Second Youth Diplomatic Conference — a remarkable, fully student-led initiative that united aspiring young diplomats from across Uzbekistan.
Unlike many similar events, this conference stood out not just for its ambition, but for its independence. With no financial backing from government bodies or major sponsors, the organizing students took on the challenge themselves. Ruxshona Urolova, the conference founder, revealed that it took three months of tireless planning and collaboration to bring the vision to life. In a creative partnership, the University of Future Technologies offered its campus as the venue in exchange for event promotion — a smart and strategic solution to overcome budget constraints.
The event replicated the Model United Nations (MUN) format, bringing global diplomacy into a youthful, energetic atmosphere. With over 160 delegates, 11 core organizers, and a dedicated team of volunteers, the scale was impressive. Six simulated UN committees, including the African Union and BRICS+, engaged over 20 delegates each in realistic and challenging debates.
Three awards were presented in each committee:
- Best Delegate
- Best Speaker
- Honorable Delegate
The competition was intense and meaningful, as students demonstrated exceptional skill in diplomacy, public speaking, and negotiation.
But what truly set this conference apart was its unique spirit. There was no fatigue or dullness—thanks to thoughtful planning that included coffee breaks, lunch, and light snacks, the energy remained high. Participants were immersed in a full day of learning, debating, and networking. Friendships were forged, knowledge was shared, and every participant walked away with a diploma and unforgettable memories.
The Youth Diplomatic Conference in Tashkent didn’t just simulate diplomacy—it embodied it, proving that passion, creativity, and collaboration can make great things happen, even without big sponsors or government support. A true testament to the potential of Uzbekistan’s next generation of global leaders.
