Cairo, Egypt – August 25, 2025
In a celebration that blended pride, promise, and partnership, U.S. Ambassador Herro Mustafa Garg welcomed Egypt’s 2025 Thanawaya Amma top achievers and their families to a special reception at the U.S. Embassy. The gathering, attended by former Foreign Minister Mohamed El-Orabi, U.S. company representatives, and American exchange program alumni, honored the students’ remarkable dedication to academic excellence.
Ambassador Mustafa Garg remarked, “Egypt’s youth are the innovators and leaders who will shape the nation’s future. The United States is proud to partner with Egypt in advancing education and building opportunities that strengthen the bonds between our two countries.”
Now in its second year, the recognition event underscores the United States’ continuing commitment to nurturing Egyptian talent and supporting their educational and professional aspirations.
To mark the occasion, Ambassador Mustafa Garg announced a year-long training program valued at over $50,000, dedicated to the top scorers. The initiative will offer English language classes and workforce development, opening doors for students to pursue careers with U.S. companies in Egypt.
Representatives from leading firms such as Apache, IBM, and GM outlined potential career pathways and reaffirmed their commitment to investing in local talent. Adding a personal dimension, U.S. exchange program alumni—now thriving in American companies across Egypt—shared their inspiring journeys, motivating the students to connect education with meaningful professional opportunities.
