Dr. Nazih El Naggary, Egypt’s Ambassador to Moscow, received Mr. Sherif Ged, President of the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities and Secretary-General of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association, at the Egyptian Embassy in Moscow. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Mohamed El-Sergany, Cultural Counselor and Head of Egypt’s Educational Mission in Russia.
Gad presented updates on the revitalization of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association, highlighting the election of a new Board of Directors led by Dr. Ibrahim Kamel as President, Ambassador Ezzat Saad as Vice President, along with prominent figures active in strengthening Egyptian-Russian relations.
He noted the positive response from the Egyptian public, who warmly welcomed the association’s return, with leading cultural icons joining its ranks and expressing a strong desire to deepen cultural ties with Russia.
Gad also conveyed to Ambassador El-Naggari the Board’s eagerness to engage with the counterpart Russian-Egyptian Friendship Association, chaired by Minister Ramadan Abdulatipov.
Furthermore, Gad praised the Egyptian Embassy’s efforts in supporting Egyptian students studying across Russia — now numbering nearly 18,000. He emphasized that many young graduates have since joined the alumni and friendship associations upon returning to Egypt, a step that promises to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.
