Cairo – In a moment that intertwines pain with dignity, the Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa and Asia announced the nomination of the Palestinian people in Gaza for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of their extraordinary resilience, steadfast commitment to their legitimate rights, and unshakable faith in freedom and human dignity despite years of suffering and blockade.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Orabi, President of the Organization and former Egyptian Foreign Minister, stated that this nomination is not merely symbolic, but a moral appeal from the conscience of humanity — an acknowledgment of a people who have turned their suffering into a platform for peace, and their endurance into a universal message of justice and hope.

“The Palestinian people in Gaza deserve the Nobel Peace Prize not because they live in peace, but because they struggle for their right to live in peace,” El-Orabi declared.
“They have become a global symbol of perseverance and belief in justice amid the harshest of trials.”

He added:

“This nomination honors the will to live in the face of destruction — a message to the world that true peace is born from steadfastness, not surrender.”

El-Orabi explained that the decision came after wide consultations with political and human rights figures across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, all of whom agreed that Gaza has transcended geography to become a living emblem of human dignity and resilience.

The decision received warm support in several Arab and African capitals, and was hailed by civil and humanitarian organizations as a symbolic step that speaks to the conscience of humanity and its yearning for justice and peace.

In conclusion, Ambassador El-Orabi called on the Norwegian Nobel Committee to “show moral courage and recognize the struggle of a people who have made of their suffering a call for peace,” emphasizing that awarding the prize to the Palestinian people of Gaza would be a tribute to every human being who believes that peace is born from resistance, not resignation.
