Korea and Egypt are strengthening their cooperation in key project sectors — including transportation, energy, and defense.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Egypt and KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) jointly hosted the 2025 Korea–Egypt Project Plaza Seminar on November 5 at the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza to commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, exploring ways to expand bilateral project cooperation.
The seminar brought together representatives from major Egyptian government agencies and organizations — including the Ministry of Transport, the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), Egyptian National Railways, and the Suez Canal Authority — along with leading Korean companies. Participants explored cooperation opportunities in transportation, energy, defense, and healthcare.

Ambassador Kim Yonghyon emphasized that “large-scale infrastructure and development projects are driving Egypt’s economic growth, improving public services, and shaping the nation’s future,” adding that “Korea, with its world-class technology and extensive experience, can be a reliable partner in supporting Egypt’s national projects and achieving its sustainable development goals.”

As a follow-up, a series of online and offline business meetings between Korean and Egyptian companies will take place from November 5 to 21.
