At the TransMEA 2025 Exhibition, German Ambassador Jürgen Schulz stated that Siemens Mobility’s unveiling of the Velaro high-speed train for the first time in Egypt marks a milestone not only for Egypt but also for Germany.
“It is an important project for Germany as well — a remarkable example of German technology, the largest overseas project ever undertaken by a German company, and a clear demonstration of the positive role played by more than 1,600 German companies operating in Egypt,” the ambassador affirmed.
The Velaro high-speed train is expected to play a pivotal role in Egypt’s new railway network, which will extend over 2,000 kilometers and connect more than 60 stations across the nation — symbolizing a new era of mobility, connectivity, and shared innovation between Cairo and Berlin.
