Three Chinese workers lost their lives when the stillness of the Tajik-Afghan frontier was shattered by a drone laden with death—an attack launched under the cover of night from Afghan territory against a workers’ camp on the Tajik side.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, the assault occurred on November 26, 2025, targeting employees of LLC Shohin SM at a site within the control zone of the 1st Border Guard Post “Istiqlol” of the “Yol” Border Detachment in Khatlon region.

The drone—armed with grenades and automatic fire—struck without warning. In its wake, three Chinese nationals working with LLC Shohin SM were killed.

Tajikistan, which has long sought to preserve calm, safeguard its border communities, and nurture a climate of stability along the Tajik-Afghan interface, laments that criminal groups operating inside Afghanistan continue to undermine this fragile peace.

Deeply alarmed, the Tajik side strongly condemns this act of terrorism and urges the Afghan authorities to take decisive and effective steps to secure the shared frontier and prevent such bloodshed between the two neighboring nations.
