In a heartfelt message to the Egyptian people, Georgiy Borisenko, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Arab Republic of Egypt, reflected on his more than five and a half years of service in Cairo, describing the experience as a profound honor.
“Dear Egyptian friends,” he began, expressing deep gratitude for the warm hospitality and gracious spirit he encountered throughout his tenure. Ambassador Borisenko noted that the kindness extended to him was rooted in the longstanding friendship between the Russian and Egyptian peoples — a relationship strengthened over decades of close cooperation in foreign policy, military affairs, economic development, culture, science, education, and beyond.
As he concludes his diplomatic mission, the Ambassador conveyed sincere appreciation to Egypt’s leadership, particularly President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, for his steadfast commitment to advancing the strategic partnership between Russia and Egypt. He also extended his gratitude to Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and the dedicated professionals at Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, whose efforts have played a vital role in deepening bilateral understanding and cooperation.
Ambassador Borisenko further commended the effective coordination with various Egyptian institutions, highlighting their collective contribution to strengthening ties — particularly following Egypt’s accession to the BRICS grouping.
In closing, he offered special thanks to members of the Egyptian–Russian friendship community for fostering people-to-people connections across multiple fields. He expressed appreciation for the Egyptian public’s enduring interest in Russian history and culture, as well as what he described as a shared outlook on current international developments.
“I will keep ancient — yet forever young — Egypt in my heart,” he said, voicing his hope for the country’s continued prosperity and for even stronger Russian–Egyptian relations in the years ahead.
