Yesterday February 13, 2026 — In a spiritually uplifting atmosphere ahead of the blessed month of Ramadan, the اتحاد خريجات الأزهر بإندونيسيا (WAZIN Indonesia), in cooperation with the مركز تطوير وتعليم الطلاب الوافدين بجامعة الأزهر, organized a scholarly seminar entitled:
“Welcoming Ramadan and Strengthening the Role of Women: Illuminating Models from Islamic History.”
The event crowned a year of dedicated efforts by WAZIN Indonesia to empower graduates of الأزهر الشريف in Indonesia and to reinforce their intellectual, spiritual, and social contributions within their communities.
In her remarks, WAZIN President Dr. Ely Warti Maliki emphasized that Ramadan is not merely a season of worship, but a transformative school that rebuilds the human spirit, thought, and conduct. She noted that a woman’s true influence is not measured by media visibility, but by the depth of her impact, the firmness of her values, and the sincerity of her service.
Professor Dr. Nahla Al-Saidi highlighted luminous examples from the lives of the Mothers of the Believers and the female Companions of the Prophet, underscoring that Muslim women throughout history have been partners in shaping awareness, bearers of knowledge, and active contributors to societal reform and development.
In the same spirit, Professor Zulfa Nur Alima affirmed that genuine excellence does not stem from fame, but from devotion to one’s role—whether at home, in academia, or in the professional sphere.
The seminar ultimately delivered a clear message: Ramadan is not only a time of fasting, but a sacred opportunity to renew one’s covenant with God and to reaffirm the enduring mission of Muslim women in serving their families, their communities, and their nations.
