In a gesture woven with compassion and faith, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Cairo organized a humanitarian solidarity program for vulnerable Palestinian families on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, in cooperation with the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH).

The initiative brought together a delegation of members of the Turkish Parliament from the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), including MPs Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Mehmet Akif Yılmaz, Cemil Yaman, and Abdullah Ağralı, alongside Turkish Red Crescent Board Member Yener Yanık.

During the event, cash assistance and food parcels were distributed to 500 Palestinians, followed by a communal iftar meal that gathered families around tables of shared blessing and dignity.

In his address, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Cairo, Salih Mutlu Şen, emphasized that Ramadan represents an exceptional time to strengthen the values of cooperation and solidarity among Muslims. Sharing the blessings of the holy month with Gazan families, he noted, is a “sacred duty.”

Ambassador Şen reaffirmed that Türkiye consistently stands by the Palestinian people. He recalled the arrival of a Turkish Red Crescent aid ship at Al-Arish Port on February 21, carrying 3,300 tons of humanitarian supplies destined for the Gaza Strip. He added that Türkiye’s total humanitarian assistance has now surpassed 110,000 tons. The ambassador also expressed sincere gratitude to the Egyptian Red Crescent and the relevant Egyptian authorities for their vital efforts and solidarity in facilitating the delivery of aid to Gaza.

He stressed that Türkiye has not and will not leave the Palestinian people alone, underscoring the continuation of humanitarian assistance in full coordination with relevant institutions. “These activities are not merely relief programs,” he said, “but a reflection of united hearts and enduring brotherhood.” He further announced plans to organize additional iftar programs and assistance initiatives for Palestinian families in partnership with Turkish civil society organizations.

The event was marked by the joyful presence of children, whose smiles illuminated the evening. Palestinian families expressed deep appreciation and gratitude to Türkiye and the Turkish people for their steadfast support during these difficult times.
