China announced on Thursday that it will intensify diplomatic engagement with all relevant parties in the Middle East in an effort to ease rising regional tensions following recent U.S. and Israeli military strikes against Iran.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Beijing will continue to maintain communication with all sides, including those directly involved in regional conflicts, while stepping up mediation efforts and working to build broader international consensus.

Responding to questions about the escalating situation, Mao stated that China is committed to playing a constructive diplomatic role aimed at preventing further deterioration of the security environment in the region.

She also announced that Zhai Jun, the Chinese government’s Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs, will travel to the region in the near future to engage with relevant stakeholders and help de-escalate the situation.

According to the spokesperson, the visit reflects Beijing’s continued commitment to dialogue, diplomatic engagement, and political solutions as the primary path toward stability in the Middle East.
