WITH a heart weighed down by profound sorrow, I, Poet Ashraf Abu Arefe, Editor-in-Chief of “Al-Diplomacy”, mourn the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He was never a mere passerby in the corridors of time, but a true architect of history and a builder of glory. With his departure, Qatar, alongside the Arab and Islamic nations, loses a towering political beacon—an exceptional leader who left an indelible mark on our era.
Sharing in this immense grief, I extend my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies—personally and on behalf of the editorial board of “Al-Diplomacy”—to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, the honorable ruling family, and the brotherly Qatari people. We pray to the Almighty to embrace the late leader in His infinite mercy and grant him eternal peace in paradise.
The late Amir possessed a visionary mind that soared far into the future, coupled with an unyielding will. Carrying his homeland in his heart, he ensured that Qatar stood vibrant, influential, and deeply engaged at the forefront of global affairs.
He led an ambitious national project that went beyond building a modern state; he sculpted a unique global identity for Qatar across politics, economics, culture, and media. By solidifying its role as an indispensable actor on the world stage, he leaves behind a monumental legacy that will remain alive in the pages of history for generations to come.
May Almighty Allah bestow His boundless grace upon Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, reward him for his devotion to his nation, and protect Qatar, its leadership, and its people.
