The Embassy of India hosted a prize distribution ceremony honoring the winners of the 29th “Glimpses of India” Painting Competition, held from 2–24 November 2025 in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Egypt.

The ceremony was graced by Kirti Vardhan Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs, Government of India, as Chief Guest. The event was also attended by Dr. Rabab Abdel Mohsin, Art Education Advisor, along with senior officials from Egypt’s Ministry of Education and Technical Education. The dignitaries congratulated the young participants, applauding their creativity, talent, and infectious enthusiasm.

In his remarks, the Hon’ble Minister warmly praised the Egyptian children for their beautiful and thoughtful artwork, commending their ability to capture the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and shared civilizational values of India and Egypt with remarkable sensitivity and imagination.

This year’s competition witnessed an inspiring response, with over 29,000 Egyptian students from 23 governorates taking part. Through vibrant and imaginative paintings, participants portrayed the culture, art, and heritage of both nations—reflecting a deep appreciation for Indian culture and underscoring the strength of the ever-growing people-to-people ties between India and Egypt.

The prize ceremony coincided with the Bharat Milan – Indian Community Cultural Festival and Kite Festival, held at Orabi Club, lending the occasion a festive and celebratory spirit. The cultural program featured a soulful Sufi music performance by the Roohani Sisters from India, supported by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, and was met with wide acclaim. The evening also showcased graceful Kathak dance, energetic Bollywood performances by the MACIC team, and lively contributions from members of the Indian diaspora.

The event reaffirmed the Embassy’s enduring commitment to fostering cultural exchange, artistic collaboration, and mutual understanding between India and Egypt—particularly among the younger generation, whose creativity continues to paint bridges between civilizations.
