Before OIC, KSA welcomes the extension of TRUCE in Sudan and calls for diplomacy mechanisms

At the invitation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Chair of the Islamic Summit and Chairman of the OIC Executive Committee, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held at its headquarters in Jeddah, yesterday, Wednesday, an emergency meeting of the open-ended Executive Committee, to discuss the situation in Sudan.

His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Organization, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, started the meeting with a speech in which he affirmed that the organization will implement the recommendations of member states, including the possibility of sending a high-level delegation to Sudan at the appropriate time and in coordination with the President of the Islamic Summit and the Chairman of the Executive Committee.

He expressed regret that the clashes took place in Sudan at a time when everyone was waiting for the talks of the Sudanese parties to culminate in an agreement on a new date for signing a final agreement and the formation of a civilian transitional government. He also expressed his regret at the lack of full commitment to humanitarian truces to evacuate the wounded, stranded, nationals and diplomatic missions, and the continuation of clashes, especially in locations in the capital, Khartoum.

He said, “Sudan is witnessing serious developments that require immediate action, as a result of the clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, which have led to many casualties and the humanitarian situation has deteriorated further.”

His Excellency praised the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in its capacity as Chairman of the Islamic Summit and Chairman of the Executive Committee, which called for convening the emergency meeting of the organization in continuation of its good offices and related efforts with the concerned parties in Sudan and regional and international actors with the aim of working to find peaceful solutions to this serious crisis. He also praised the Kingdom’s sincere efforts to evacuate, based on the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them both.

He praised the valuable initiatives made by several member states of the organization and their evacuation of those stranded in Sudan, as well as their efforts aimed at supporting stability in Sudan, calling for more efforts to reach an immediate and permanent cease-fire and urging the parties to sit around the dialogue table so that the country does not slide into conflict. The turn of chaos, especially with the repercussions of the influx of people crossing into Egypt and Ethiopia and the increase in the number of refugees to Chad.

After that, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s speech was delivered at the extraordinary meeting of the open-ended Executive Committee to discuss developments in the brotherly Republic of Sudan, delivered by the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. And this is based on an invitation from the Kingdom, the Chairman of the Islamic Summit, the Chairman of the Executive Committee, hoping that the meeting will come out in crystallizing a unified Islamic position that contributes to mending the rift and stopping the bloodshed on that generous land, the country of the two Niles, and the homeland of water and life.

He said: “We are following as you are, and our hearts are full of pain and sorrow for what is happening now in the brotherly Republic of Sudan, the country of diverse ancient civilizations, and the rich cultural heritage of fighting that threatens its unity, and bloodshed between brothers and sons of one country that embraces all, as its people are generous and kind. Cohabitants, broad-mindedness, patience, and open mind at a time when Sudan is in dire need of uniting ranks, accord, harmony, joining hands, and renouncing violence, to engage in construction and development, achieve stability and prosperity, and respond to the aspirations of the ambitious Sudanese people, who love optimism and life.. The brotherly Sudanese people have suffered enough. From the scourge of conflicts and the pain of humanitarian crises, and passed through bitter experiences capable of drawing lessons and lessons.

He added, “The time has come for that honorable people to live their life in safety, security and prosperity, and to move forward in achieving their ambitions and aspirations, and to get out of the hell of their crises, and we are certain that Sudan, which was able to cross many challenges and overcome many obstacles throughout history, and what the brothers invoked in Sudan is one of the values of brotherhood and noble Islamic principles. They are able now, more than ever, to overcome this critical stage in the history of their country, and open a new page of confidence with the least damage and the greatest gains, to build a new Sudan that abhors wars and conflicts.

Dr. Al-Suhaibani stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through this meeting, renews its call to the brothers in the Republic of Sudan to calm down and restraint, to give priority to the language of dialogue and the national interest, and to work to stop all forms of escalation in a way that preserves the capabilities and gains of the Sudanese people, and to strive to unify the ranks in a way that contributes to In completing the previous consensus achieved, including the framework agreement aimed at achieving political and security stability, economic recovery and prosperity for Sudan and its brotherly people. At the same time, the Kingdom welcomes the armistice, the extension of the ceasefire, and the provision of safe humanitarian corridors, looking forward to this armistice contributing to a permanent cessation of fighting and engaging in dialogue in order for peace, security, security, and stability to prevail in all parts of brotherly Sudan.

He stated that the Kingdom is making unremitting efforts, under the generous directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Trustworthy Crown Prince – may God protect them – in order to solve the Sudanese crisis and end the conflict, since the outbreak of armed clashes in the middle of last month, sensing the dictates of the principles of the true Islamic religion, and in line with the principles of Islam. The Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and in line with the principles of neighborhood and noble human values, and as an extension of its benevolent efforts since ancient times to stand with the brothers in Sudan in their joys and sorrows.

He pointed out that the Kingdom continues, in this regard and with all interest, to play a major diplomatic and humanitarian role in light of this crisis, as this is reflected in many humanitarian and diplomatic initiatives for sea and air evacuations of nationals of Arab, Islamic and friendly countries, and many staffs of diplomatic missions, officials and officials.
