The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Osama bin Ahmed Noqli, affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) evacuation of citizens from the sisterly Republic of Sudan comes in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God preserve them – and based on its duty towards its citizens in all countries of the world.

He explained that the evacuation operations carried out by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, with the support of various branches of the armed forces, are the first maritime evacuation since the outbreak of the conflict in the Republic of Sudan, and included securing the exit of citizens from Khartoum to the port of Port Sudan, and from there to the port of Jeddah.

He added that the Kingdom’s response to requests submitted by brotherly and friendly countries to evacuate its nationals in the Republic of Sudan stems from the Kingdom’s humanitarian principles and its influential role as a reliable partner for the international community, pointing out that the number of people evacuated at this stage is about 66 people, including diplomats and international officials. They belong to 12 nationalities, namely: (Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Pakistan, India, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Canada, and Burkina Faso), and the numbers may increase during the next few days.

The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Egypt appreciated the facilities provided by the brothers in the Republic of Sudan to facilitate the exit of the stranded evacuees, indicating that the Kingdom is in direct contact with the brothers in Sudan to secure safe passages with the aim of evacuating nationals of brotherly and friendly countries wishing to return to their home countries.

Ambassador Noqli affirmed the Kingdom’s continued endeavors and efforts in evacuating nationals of brotherly and friendly countries that have applied for assistance to their nationals, including granting them the necessary entry visas at the port of entry to the Kingdom.
