Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman and Director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the Secretary-General began the meeting by welcoming the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the headquarters of the international organization, praising the pioneering role played by Egyptian diplomacy in various international multilateral forums, especially the United Nations. The Secretary-General also reviewed his most important impressions on the discussions that took place during the high-level segment of the General Assembly and the meetings that were organized, and what they reflected in the existence of a general consensus on the importance of reforming the multilateral action system, both politically and economically, and that he is counting on Egypt to be at the forefront of countries that support And lead those efforts.

For his part, a discussion took place on a number of important issues related to the Middle East region and developments in the African Sahel region, where Mr. Sameh Shoukry reviewed Egypt’s assessment of the situations in Libya, Sudan and Syria, and the peace process in the Middle East, as topics and issues on the international agenda and it is important that The role of the international organization and its agencies in finding solutions to the region’s crises is strengthened. The discussions also touched on the issue of climate change, sustainable development, and advancing the process of reforming the international multilateral action system.
